Fighters Biography
When and why did you start training martial arts?
In 2011 I had fought 18 or 19 tournaments and then I started having trouble finding opponents. So I felt the need of changing to a sport where the opponents would show up and my fights would stop being cancelled as with Muay Thai guys would be backing out on fight day.
What achievements, ranks and titles have you held?
Iām a Muay Thai regional champion, and state champion in two different states (Rio Grande do Norte and Sao Paulo) in Brazil. Iām also a BJJ Brown belt and have some regional and state titles.
How did you get your fight name?
I have polydactyly, so I have a small finger together with my left thumb. So people called me āDedinhoā which means āsmall fingerā.
What is your favourite technique, and why?
The triangle choke. Because ever since I started MMA my opponents hear I have a good level of Muay Thai and try to take me down. Even guys known for their striking. Some of these times I caught them on triangle chokes and they paid for it.
Who is your hero, and why?
I donāt have a hero, but a guy that I really admire on this sport is Patricky Pitbull. Not only due to his fights, but for the person and fighter he became along the way. And to top it all heās my training partner and itās a big honor for me to share the mat with him.
What other interesting information can you tell us about yourself?
Iām a family guy. My hobbies involve going out with my family, I have a wife and a 4 year old son, I also own a branch of the Pitbull Brothers gym and teach Muay Thai and Brazilian Jiu Jitsu to several students. I want to be able to live off the sport and conquer titles and also inspire people to always try their best.
What does it mean for you to fight in the EFC?
It means a breakthrough and the opportunity to take my career to the next level. I always worked hard to be able to get to a big stage. I dream of being able to dedicate myself 100% to fighting and getting the EFC belt will be the first step to that reality.
