EFC 111 OFFICIAL RESULTS: KING SHAKA REWRITES HISTORY ONCE MORE!

The first two-divisional champion of the EFC, Nkazimulo ‘King Shaka’ Zulu, reclaimed the belt he rightly viewed as his with a dominant win over the previously-undefeated flyweight title-holder, Gift ‘The Day’ Walker in sensational scenes at the EFC Performance Institute in Johannesburg. Now with his bantamweight belt over one shoulder and the newly acquired 125lb waist wear over the other in scenes reminiscent of his CIT teammate and UFC Middleweight Champ, Dricus du Plessis, Shaka Zulu sent out a clarion call for governmental support for EFC before confirming his need to take care of business by confirming a showdown with a hostile Terence Balelo before he would answer any UFC offers that undoubtedly should come his way. Gracious in defeat, Walker conceded that he had no shame in losing to such a legend and that his title-loss would only make him come back stronger than ever before.

Fans were treated to not one, but two face-offs in the Hex, as middleweight champion Luke Michael squared-up to his next opponent in his first title defence against the interim champion, JP Kruger. Following Zulu’s ground-breaking victory, he and Terence Balelo had to be separated as their war of words threatened to spill into action as ‘The Black Panther’ avowed his violent intent to convert his interim 135lb title into Zulu’s solid gold belt.

With 2024 looking set to be the biggest in the organisations 15-year history with a series of ground-breaking announcements imminent, many fighters placed-down a plethora of violent markers in their respective divisions as a night full of knockouts, submissions and wars thrilled the sold-out crowd, setting into motion a year of truly historic proportions, not just for Nkazimulo Zulu, but for the most-watched sporting league on the African continent, that is about to completely demolish the playbook of global MMA.
