THREATS, THROATS AND THROTTLES AT THE SCALE! EFC 108 Weigh-ins

After a fairly respectful series of face-offs at the official EFC 108 weigh-ins, the escalating tension between main-event athletes, Shannon van Tonder and Musa Sethwape exploded on stage and had to be separated by Night Guard security as a scuffle ensued. As ‘The Terror’ Van Tonder stepped-off the scale, he flew at his opponent and grabbed ‘Bad News’ by the throat initiating a melée that involved a multitude of security personnel. Nor were the athletes shy on the mic either, with Sethwape promising to end the life of his opponent prompting derision from Van Tonder. And to add even more controversy, Van Tonder failed to make weight and will no longer be eligible for the interim title, should he beat Sethwape tomorrow night.

A pumped-up Shadrack ‘Blambee’ Nsua welcomed his veteran opponent Stefan ‘Mr Kicks’ Pretorius to the scale with his usual fervent energy in a fascinating catchweight matchup which has a classic old school/news school vibe whilst Emmanuel Sita is searching for a return to the win column against Atilla Barna’s rising star Ayanda Zwane. Two massive middleweights, Jeremie Tshibala and Khulekani Hlongwa remained respectful on stage, reserving their evident knockout power for the Hex after Zambia’s talented featherweight prospect Ken Sekeletu started into the eyes of South Africa’s undefeated Andile Gasa ahead of their blink-and-miss main card curtain-raiser.

With 24 athletes competing at the Performance Institute, EFC 108 is the longest card this year in the EFC with several mouth-watering matchups offering some intriguing wagers at World Sports Betting. Debutante Kenan Hornabrook takes on Yebo Ntambwe on the undercard, with the latter coming in at a massive 6.00 betting line, meaning R100 put down on Ntambwe to win would ensure a whopping R600 payout. Regardless, with this many fights, the value-for-money for efcworldwide.tv viewers streaming around the world has never been greater, as the main event bad blood between the two fierce rivals threatens to boil over in one spectacular evening of MMA combat!
