Flyweight title contenders Terence Balelo and Gift Walker had to be separated on stage as their war of words erupted at the official weigh-ins, 24 hours before they’re locked inside the Hexagon to compete for the 125lb golden strap.

With spotless undefeated records and numerous thrilling finishes, confidence was at an all-time high as neither athlete backed-down before Night Guard security separated them to prevent further conflict. Even though Walker is a significant bookies favourite at World Sports Betting, Balelo projected fierce self-belief in his prediction of victory despite being a 2.50 underdog.

The crowd bayed their appreciation for returning former champion from Cape Town, Faeez Jacobs who promised a knock-out over Angola’s gritty brawler, Eduardo Barros. Despite having seven less professional bouts than the fan favourite, Luanda’s Barros professed respect for his opponent and promised a show for the fans when the bell goes.

Security were forced to intervene again, in what has become a significant local rivalry with exciting Zambian signing Humphrey Mulenga fronting-up to his opponent from Zimbabwe, Tapiwa Katikati, in what is being billed as the battle to be crowned the King of Kariba. Katikati’s fellow countryman, Simbarashe Hokonya made weight in a main card curtain-riser as did his flashy foe, Divin Bosomi before the possible fight of the night candidates Fafa Dwama and Tumelo Manyamala squared-off with mean intent.
