ITS FRIGHT WEEK AS SMILEY FACES THE NIGHTMARE!

Johannesburg, South Africa – With 11 breathtaking bouts, EFC 99 will witness 22 fighters battle it out for supremacy in the ultimate proving ground of combat sports, with the 145lb title to be decided between the Champion, Igeu ‘Smiley’ Kabesa and the challenger Bradley ‘The Nightmare’ Swanepoel.

With Halloween celebrations still continuing in the City of Gold, it’s Swanepoel who will want to shock the dominant champion Kabesa and turn ‘The Nightmare’ into a ‘Dream’, but the champion is well-prepared for any eventuality and as one of the most experienced champions in EFC history, ‘Smiley’ will not be so easily scared. The co-main event is an all west-African clash between the Cameroonian Lion, Nico Yamdjie and Senegalese wrestling star, Adam ‘Blindé’ Diop which will test the foundations of the EFC Performance Institute with both hulks possessing incredible knock-out power and truly destructive grappling.

The welterweights are also represented as CIT’s technically-gifted JT ‘Blade’ Botha faces the durable and gritty Kaleka ‘Block’ Kabanda who steps up on short notice after a superb submission win just two months ago. Zambia’s Rob ‘The Black Tiger’ Simbowe continues his campaign for title contention in the lightweight division with a crucial bout against Durban’s undefeated Tapiwa ‘The Mighty Warrior’ Katikati who has yet to go to a judge’s decision in his entire professional career and the main card curtain-raiser will see Pride Fighting Academy’s protogée Tumelo ‘Bones of Steel’ Manyamala attempt to stifle the fluid yet deadly jiu-jitsu of Salahuddin ‘Shady’ Plaatjies.

The featured prelim bout will undoubtedly set the tone of this killer main card as the experiences and swift-footed Francois ‘The Saint’ Cundari returns for his first scrap of ‘22 against the debuting powerhouse from Gqeberha Shadrack Nsua and this is only after 5 outstanding undercard wars that will enthrall MMA fans across the world.
