Fighters Biography
Fight preparation?
I train three times a day in Muaythai, power training/crossfit and Jits.
When and why did you start MMA?
Unfortunately in SA K1 isn’t going anywhere. If you want to be someone and be successful in a combat sport, it has to be in MMA, the world’s fastest growing sport.
What ranks and titles have you held?
3x SA K1 champion. Super-Am K1 middleweight and light heavyweight champion. XKT K1 and high kick champion.
What do you consider your strengths to be?
Striking, especially kicks.
What do you enjoy about MMA?
The stand-up striking. Unlike some people, who see combat sports as brawling, I appreciate the science behind striking. I’m just a brutal scientist.
What do you do when not competing or training?
Man, just chilling and spending time with my lady.
MMA highlights:
I’ve had three amateur fights – The first I won on points. The second I won by submission in 16 seconds; the guy tried to rugby tackle me and went straight into a guillotine. The third was against Garreth ‘Soldierboy’ McLellan and he beat me by guillotine.
